Does Technology Ever Leave You Bored?


Walter Kirn, of The Atlantic thinks boredom is extinct. He attributes this to technology:

"Thanks to Twitter, iPads, BlackBerrys, voice-activated in-dash navigation systems, and a hundred other technologies that offer distraction anywhere, anytime, boredom has loosened its grip on us at last."

Did we sacrifice idle, but potentially creative moments, to keep up with technology’s latest creation? If boredom has been replaced by technology, does this also signal an end to time for pause and meaningful reflection?
